Format: 4-day, In-Person in Halifax/Dartmouth
Dates: Nov. 4 to 7, 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM CST
This 4-day course is based on the CSA F280-12 (R2021) “Determining the Required Capacity of Residential Space Heating and Cooling Appliances,” a nationally recognized standard which all Canadian Building Codes reference.
This course takes students through step by step calculation to help them determine the required or appropriate appliances after understanding the heat loss and heat gain in building envelope. The calculation includes examining above and below grade HLHG, air leakage and ventilation and the influence that people, appliances and window shading have on the system.
The Best Part: With the successful completion of this course, participants will be recognized by municipal building officials and plans examiners for having the technical competency needed to perform residential load calculations and select the appropriate HVAC appliances.
