Backflow Prevention for Chemical Dispensers and Kitchen Equipment
Training Hours 2 (0.2 CEUs)
This is a recording of a live webinar conducted on May 6, 2020. Perhaps one of the most misunderstood products in the plumbing industry is the chemical dispenser. What is the proper cross-connection needed to protect the water supply? Is the protection already part of the dispenser or should it be installed on the water supply upstream of the dispenser? Do dispensers require a dedicated water supply or can they be supplied by another fixture, such as a service sink faucet? Do they require a permit or a licensed plumber to be installed? Should they be in place and inspected before the occupancy permit is issued? Are these dispensers a high or low hazard to the potable water supply? The answers to these and other questions will be discussed and debated at this seminar. We will examine the code requirements, innovated products related these installations, along with training programs and policies that exist in the industry for inspectors, consumers, and contractors working to ensure that this equipment is installed and used properly.
